Coming in with a major update to our product — Lightweight Charts™. Loaded with new features, optimizations, and improvements, they’re packing a punch. Let’s dive into the highlights.

Key features

Reduced bundle size

Despite adding a wealth of new features, we’ve reduced the bundle size by an impressive 16%, bringing the base bundle size down to 35kB. Through enhanced tree-shaking, a modernized architecture, and optimization, this release delivers more while using less. You can read more details in our Migration guide from v4 to v5. Now, let’s cover major updates.

Multi-pane support

One of our most requested features is here — multi-pane support! Create complex chart layouts with multiple independent viewing areas, making advanced technical analysis seamless and efficient.

New chart types

We’ve introduced two new chart types.

New and improved plugins

We’ve enhanced our plugin system to streamline workflows and improve customization.

  • Up/Down Markers: visualize price changes effectively with up/down markers.
  • Watermarks: add professional branding or annotations with new watermark plugins.
  • Series Markers: now modular for better tree-shaking and optimized integration.

Other improvements

  • Migration to modern ES2020 syntax: boosts performance and ensures compatibility with modern JavaScript.
  • Enhanced color support: your charts now shine brighter with expanded color capabilities.
    • Expanded native support for sRGB-based colors (RGB, RGBA, hex, named colors, and HSL)
    • Support for expanded color gamuts like Display P3
    • Ability to specify a custom color parser to add support for non-sRGB formats
  • Improved plugin system: attach plugins directly to panes with Pane Primitives for precise functionality.
