EUR/USD 4-Hour Chart - OANDA4-hour performance of the Euro/US Dollar (EUR/USD) currency pair on the OANDA platform as of July 17, 2025. The current exchange rate is 1.16408, showing a slight decline of 0.01%. Key levels include a buy signal at 1.16417 and a sell signal at 1.16399, with recent price action ranging between 1.1452 and 1.17245. The chart includes candlestick patterns and shaded areas indicating potential resistance and support zones.
EURUSD – Weakness emerges at descending channel resistanceEURUSD remains within a well-defined descending channel and was recently rejected at the upper trendline – a key dynamic resistance zone. Price action shows the recovery is limited around 1.16600, with multiple FVG (Fair Value Gap) zones reinforcing the potential for further downside.
On the news front, the euro remains under pressure as Eurozone inflation data brought no surprises, while the US dollar is supported by June’s PPI rising exactly as expected at 0.2%. This combination leaves EURUSD with little momentum to break higher, making a move back toward the 1.15300 support area a scenario to watch.
If the price fails to break above 1.16600 and forms a lower high, the bearish trend will be further confirmed. Keep an eye on price behavior around the FVG zones to identify optimal entry points.
EURUSD Under Pressure as Macro Divergence WidensEURUSD is facing renewed downward pressure after rallying from 1.02 to 1.18 in a strong multi-month move. However, diverging inflation expectations between the EU and the U.S. are now weighing heavily on the pair.
One major signal comes from real yields. The Germany–U.S. 10-year real yield spread currently sits at -1.1182, the same level seen during the 2024 top near 1.11 and the 2023 top near 1.10. By that measure, EURUSD appears expensive. Over the past five years, 69% of EURUSD’s moves can be statistically explained by this real yield spread, making it a key macro indicator.
Inflation expectations are also diverging. The U.S. 5y5y inflation swap is trending upward, while the EU’s equivalent has remained flat. This suggests the Fed may keep rates elevated for longer than initially expected.
Beyond bond market dynamics, the August 1 tariff deadline is approaching with no deal in sight. In fact, tensions are rising, as the EU prepares possible countermeasures targeting $84 billion worth of U.S. goods. Adding to the pressure, political risk in France is building due to ongoing budget negotiations.
Technically, the recent break of both the uptrend (yellow) and the downtrend channel was significant. Euro bulls now need to reclaim and hold above 1.1660 to avoid deeper losses. If they fail, 1.1445 could become the next key support level, with further downside possible depending on how the news develops.

EURUSD - OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY BOTH SIDES OF DESCENDING CHANNEL CMCMARKETS:EURUSD
TRADING IDEA - EURUSD MOVES WITHIN A DESCENDING CHANNEL - OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY BOTH SIDES
EURUSD has been trading within a descending channel since the beginning of the month. Nearby the upper border of the channel there is SMA200 on a 30-m timeframe, pushing on the pair. Generally speaking, all major moving averages are pushing on the EURUSD, the short-term bearish trend continues, so I decided to open
🔽 a market sell order at 1.16688 with
❌a stop loss at 1.16985 and
🤑a take profit at 1.16324
Later I expect a rebound from the lower border with a potential uprise towards upper border of the descending channel.

EURUSD Remains Under Pressure Following CPIThis morning, after the US CPI report was released at 8:30 AM EDT, EUR/USD surged briefly due to a slightly weaker-than-expected inflation reading. Despite this, signs of rising inflation persisted, leading EUR/USD to rise sharply before quickly retreating.
EUR/USD has seen an intermediate top at 1.1830 since early July. The euro is under pressure due to looming US tariffs (30% on EU imports, effective August 1) and mixed economic signals, like Eurozone industrial production rising 1.7% in May (vs. 0.9% expected). The pound (GBP) and other currencies are also reacting to tariff concerns.
Taking a look at the 1hour chart, you can see we are still trading below a descending trendline. Taking everything into consideration, I'm positioning short sells whenever we get bounce higher.
That's it - That's all - Trade Safe
EURUSD H1 I Bearish Reversal Based on the H1 chart analysis, we can see that the price is rising toward our sell entry at 1.1681, which is a pullback resistance.
Our take profit will be at .1642, an overlap support level.
The stop loss will be placed at 1.1714, a swing-high resistance level.

What Are Bollinger Bands? How to use it.✅ What Are Bollinger Bands?
Bollinger Bands are a volatility-based technical analysis tool developed by John Bollinger. They consist of three lines:
1. Middle Band: 20-period Simple Moving Average (SMA)
2. Upper Band: Middle Band + 2 standard deviations
3. Lower Band: Middle Band - 2 standard deviations
The bands expand and contract based on price volatility.
📊 What Bollinger Bands Tell You
Contraction (Squeeze): Low volatility, possible breakout coming
Expansion: High volatility, breakout in progress or exhausted
Price Touches Band: Doesn’t mean reversal—it's a sign of strength or weakness
🎯 Mastering Strategies with Bollinger Bands
1. Bollinger Band Squeeze (Breakout Strategy)
Setup: Bands are very close together (low volatility)
Signal: Wait for breakout and volume spike
Action: Enter in direction of breakout
Tip: Combine with MACD or RSI for confirmation
> 🔍 Example: If the price breaks above the upper band with strong volume after a squeeze → potential long entry.
2. Mean Reversion (Reversal Strategy)
Setup: Price touches or exceeds upper/lower band
Signal: Look for RSI divergence, candlestick reversal patterns
Action: Fade the move back to the 20 SMA (mean reversion)
Tip: Works best in ranging markets
> ⚠️ Warning: Don’t short just because price touches the upper band. Look for confluence.
3. Trend Riding with Bands
Setup: Price rides upper/lower band
Signal: Pullbacks to the 20 SMA in a strong trend
Action: Enter on bounce near SMA if the trend is strong
Tip: Use higher timeframes to confirm the trend
> 🟢 In an uptrend, buy near the 20 SMA when price pulls back but doesn’t break lower band.
📌 Key Tips for Mastery
1. Adjust settings for asset/timeframe (e.g., crypto might need a 10 or 14 SMA)
2. Never use Bollinger Bands alone – combine with:
RSI (for overbought/oversold confirmation)
MACD (trend confirmation)
Volume (for breakout confirmation)
3. Use multiple timeframes – e.g., 4H for trend, 15m for entry
4. Avoid chasing band breakouts without confirmation
5. Backtest strategies with your preferred asset
🧠 Advanced Concepts
Double Bottoms Outside Band: When price forms a W-bottom with the second low outside the lower band bullish reversal setup.
Walking the Band: In strong trends, price can "walk" along the band don’t fade too early.
Band Width: Track the width of bands to detect upcoming breakouts.

Lingrid | EURUSD Bullish Trend ContinuesFX:EURUSD is holding a bullish structure inside an upward channel after bouncing from the 1.1670 demand zone. 📈 Key Levels
Buy zone: 1.1650–1.1680 (trendline + key support)
Sell trigger: break below 1.1600
Target: 1.1885 – 1.1900 zone
